SPP 2009 Comp
Rules
Pilots must choose what category they want to enter there flight for competition standings. Primarily we are doing this so one stellar flight doesn't end up dominating all of the categories. We want to give everyone as many chances to win as possible. There is also some fun strategy in figuring out where you have the best chance to win. :-)
Dates
Started on April 25th
Ends October 4th
Categories
- Longest Flight Duration
- If on tow, measured from time of release to landing
- Longest XC Flight
- Highest Altitude over Launch
- If on tow, measured from recorded release altitude or 1000ft if not recorded
In each category, we will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall as well as an award for the best P2 performance in each category.

- Chillhowee

- Walden's Ridge
Noted Exceptions:
We are not including Tater Hill as it is a 4 plus hour drive for most of the SPP membership and is not an SPP site.
We are not including Dunn's as it is not totally open to paragliding yet and we don't want to promote flying there and risk jeopordizing the site. It is also not an SPP site.
Submit your flight statistics to the SPP discussion board with "COMPETITION ENTRY" in the subject line. Douglas will keep track of the entries and provide monthly updates.
